Job Opening
Common Ground seeks a professional with deep experience in affordable housing development to serve as a senior-level project manager. This position will report to the Director of Housing Development, and will work closely with partner organizations, public funders and Common Ground staff.
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the development process and public financing mechanisms, a strong detail-orientation, ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment, outstanding communication skills, and superior project management and client service skills.

Core Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate all stages of housing development projects, including planning, feasibility analysis, deal-structuring, funding proposal preparation, design, bidding, contracting, construction administration, budget management, and close-out
- Maintain communication and positive relationships with partner/client organizations and Common Ground team members
- Conduct other consulting services such as financial analysis and needs assessments
- Develop project proposals and concepts and conduct business development activities for Common Ground services
- Lead by example, demonstrating a high level of professionalism while supporting and mentoring other staff members
- Manage and monitor projects and contracts and be able to prepare client and management reports
- Participate in the refinement and development of internal systems and processes
Qualifications
- Five or more years experience in housing/real estate development
- Two or more years direct experience and demonstrated expertise in public financing of affordable housing, including LIHTC financing and structuring of multi-source deals
- Demonstrated mastery of project management
- Familiarity with construction design concepts, the construction process, and the contracting process for the project development team (architects, general contractors, etc.)
- Two or more years consulting experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a wide variety of strong business relationships
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and a flexible communication style for working effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds
- Strong detail-orientation, with demonstrated skill managing projects and tasks on-time and on-budget
- Understanding of the nonprofit housing and human services world
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently to achieve results
- Computer and database fluency
- Bachelor's degree
- Professional credentials related to real estate development or consulting preferred
- A sense of humor
