When the 2001 Nisqually Earthquake destroyed Compass Center's shelter and headquarters, they came to Common Ground to help them respond to the crisis. The rebuilding of their historic 77 South Washington building and the construction of an additional facility enabled Compass Center to not only recover from the crisis, but to expand their services to Seattle's homeless citizens.
