Homebuyer Opportunity Project (Capacity Building)

Highway 112 & Tribal Complex
Neah Bay, WA 98357

As part of a Rural Housing and Economic Development capacity-building grant, we assisted the Makah Housing Authority (MHA) with developing their Homebuyer Opportunity Project.  The aim of this program was to create more homeownership opportunities for tribal members.  In addition, we also trained MHA staff on how to administer affectively the Indian Housing Block Grant and more efficiently provide affordable housing to the Tribe.  Further, we provided staff and board trainings to build the organization’s collective capacity to build and manage their affordable housing portfolio, to meet the needs of their community.
