New Ground Kirkland

When Friends of Youth (FOY) took over a 9,000 square foot apartment back in 2007, they had a vision for a transitional housing complex serving their homeless young adults. But the building was in need of quite a few upgrades.  Common Ground provided a full range of services, including a Capital Needs Assessment, to assist FOY with the rehabilitation process, as well as bringing together a diverse array of private and public funding.  That old apartment building became New Ground Kirkland, a transitional housing facility welcomed by the surrounding community.  The 8 units are for homeless youth aged 18 to 21 who have found themselves on the streets due to abuse or lack of support.  Friends of Youth provides case management and support to help residents become self-sufficient.
