New Beginnings Domestic Violence Transitional Housing

Address Confidential

New Beginnings’ Domestic Violence Transitional Housing has 17 units of supportive housing for survivors of domestic violence and their children. This project is a renovation of an existing multifamily residence which New Beginnings first developed in 1997. The facility was in great need of repair due to repeated damage caused by water intrusion. Common Ground performed an overall review of this project’s replacement and operating reserves, and made a plan for building stronger annual deposits.  This was one of the first projects in the state to comply with the Evergreen Sustainable Design Standards. And as part of the rehabilitation, we replaced windows and siding and added weatherization measures to address water intrusion. All this was done while the building was occupied.
