The 5,000-acre Skokomish Indian Reservation is situated directly in the flood plain of the Skokomish River.  Because of the many problems resulting from annual flooding, the Skokomish Indian Tribe completed a thorough master plan for a new neighborhood and housing development. The master plan outlines a multiple phase, 138-home development named “t3ba.’das” which translates into “our blunt point."  It includes homeownership opportunities, rental housing, community facilities and green space.  Common Ground provided technical and financial packaging assistance to help the tribe proceed with Phase I of their extensive multiphase housing project, which included major infrastructure upgrades and construction.
