Nonprofit Facilities Development

Since 1980, we’ve partnered with over 300 local organizations on more than 100 real estate projects. If you’re a nonprofit hoping to build or renovate a facility (any facility – not just housing), we can help you plan your project, develop a budget, identify a suitable site, save money in construction and/or attract public funding sources.

Examples of nonprofit real estate development include:

Facility Planning and Site Acquisition

If you want to acquire, renovate or expand a facility, you may have some basic questions.

Common Ground can facilitate planning discussions, help you generate project concepts, frame out a project’s key parameters and set the stage for success.

Financing Consultation

Once you have a firm concept, you’ll need to explore options for financing your project. Common Ground has decades of experience assembling financing packages for nonprofits.

Determining funding sources is one of Common Ground’s core strengths. We can help you navigate the complexities of these options, assess their feasibility, and ultimately build a balanced financing plan.

Project and Construction Management

Once you’ve secured your site and nailed down financing, you’ll need to manage the project. Some nonprofits have the skills and capacity to do this in-house. For those who do not, Common Ground provides full project management services, helping you secure key vendors, ensure designs meet your needs, track funding sources, report to lenders and investors and manage construction.

Contracting with Common Ground for project management can allow your staff members to focus on what they do best and help assure the project comes in on time and on budget.

Please contact us so we can talk about customizing a package that fits your organization.
